When clients walk into Times Audio, they come with dreams, not just product lists.
Recently, a homeowner from South Delhi visited our Gurgaon experience centre. His brief was simple: “I don’t want to see a single speaker. Everything must be invisible.”
He was building his dream home theatre and entertainment lounge. His interior team had designed wooden panels, marble cladding, and mood lighting. He wanted powerful sound but zero visual intrusion.
Why Hidden Speakers Are Not Just Placement Tricks
Many people think hidden speakers mean tucking small Bluetooth units behind furniture. That is not what we do.
At Times Audio, we specialise in premium hidden solutions from brands like:
- Bowers & Wilkins (in-wall and in-ceiling ranges)
- Q Acoustics (install speaker series)
- Dali Phantom
- Paradigm Elite in-wall speakers
But hidden setups come with challenges:
- Cavity depth and reinforcement
- Correct positioning to avoid phase and imaging issues
- Adequate amplification
This client’s room was a 22 x 16 ft lounge with a large TV unit and bar counter. The false ceiling was only 6 inches deep, and the rear wall was solid marble.
Our Approach: Listening First, Designing Next
We started with an audio consultation to understand his preferences. He wanted rich bass, clear vocals, and room-filling energy for parties.
We proposed:
- Front LCR: Bowers & Wilkins CWM7.3 S2 in-wall speakers
- Surrounds: Q Acoustics Performance in-ceiling speakers
- Subwoofer: REL T/9x, hidden inside the TV unit with custom grille
- Amplification: Marantz SR8015, with Anthem MDX for zone expansion
Integration Challenges
- False Ceiling Depth
Most powerful ceiling speakers need 8–10 inches. His ceiling allowed only 6. We recommended Q Acoustics slim in-ceiling models, ensuring no compromise on dispersion and clarity.
- Subwoofer Placement
He did not want the REL subwoofer visible. We designed a vented custom enclosure within the TV console, using acoustically transparent aluminium grille, matching the wood finish.
- Vibration Control
Hidden subwoofers can rattle cabinetry. We decoupled the sub using IsoAcoustics stands within the console.
- Amplifier Heat Management
The Marantz SR8015 and Anthem MDX were installed inside a ventilated equipment rack behind the bar counter. We added silent exhaust fans to maintain temperature.
Why Budget Systems Don’t Work Here
Invisible speakers are not about ‘just hiding them.’ They need powerful drivers and quality amplification. A ₹1L soundbar or entry-level AVR cannot achieve true cinema performance.
At Times Audio, our home theatre solutions start from ₹10 lakh onwards (excluding recliners and interiors). This ensures the build quality, speaker engineering, and calibration that hidden installations demand.
The Final Result
We handed over the system after a full Dirac and manual calibration session. The client played “Interstellar” to test it. The room came alive with deep bass, crisp dialogues, and a wide immersive soundstage — without a single speaker visible.
His architect later told us, “He was smiling the whole evening after your team left.”
Why It Matters
For luxury homeowners, it is not just about watching movies. It is about preserving clean interiors while enjoying true cinema-grade performance.
For architects and designers, hidden speaker solutions add value to design without compromising sound.
Brands That Enable This
- Bowers & Wilkins CWM & CCM series
- Q Acoustics Install Performance series
- Dali Phantom M-250 & H series
- REL Acoustics T/x and S series
- Marantz AV receivers
- Anthem MDX multi-zone amplifiers
Conclusion
If you are planning a home theatre, media lounge, or integrated living room system with zero visual clutter, speak to specialists. Hidden speakers need correct engineering, placement design, and acoustic calibration.
That is what we do every day at Times Audio for homeowners across Gurgaon, DLF, South Delhi, Noida, and Ludhiana.
